About the role
The ideal General Manager candidate will:
- Be fluent in English
- Oversee all aspects of restaurant service, including food preparation, serving, and customer service.
- Supervise and manage restaurant staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and timely service.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste.
- Handle guest enquiries and feedback professionally to enhance the guest experience.
- Implement operational policies and procedures to optimise efficiency and profitability.
- Lead by example in delivering excellent hospitality experiences and maintaining team morale.
- Organise staff training programmes focused on culinary skills, food safety, and guest service excellence.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
- Experience in food safety standards and food production processes.
- Background in restaurant management or similar roles is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.
- Additional skills such as extensive wine knowledge or culinary expertise are considered beneficial but not essential.
