Are you passionate about the Hair and Beauty industry and take pride in creating professional, welcoming environments? We're looking for an enthusiastic and organised Hair & Beauty Technician to play a key role in supporting our vibrant salon and curriculum area.
Working alongside lecturers, students and industry partners, you will help ensure our commercial salon operates smoothly, safely and professionally, providing an exceptional experience for clients while supporting learners to develop the practical skills they need for successful careers in the sector.
About the Role
As our Hair & Beauty Technician, you will be responsible for preparing salon and treatment areas, maintaining equipment, managing stock and supporting teaching activities. You will help create an industry-standard environment where learners can develop confidence, professionalism and practical skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing salons, treatment rooms and practical work areas for lessons and commercial activities.
- Maintaining equipment to a high standard and carrying out minor repairs where appropriate.
- Managing stock, placing orders, liaising with suppliers and maintaining accurate inventories.
- Supporting staff and learners during practical sessions.
- Promoting high standards of health and safety, cleanliness and professionalism.
- Completing equipment safety checks and maintaining records.
- Supporting risk assessments, COSHH compliance and safe working practices.
- Working collaboratively across the curriculum area to provide outstanding support for students and staff.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Qualified to Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant Hair and Beauty subject.
- Experienced within the Hair and Beauty industry.
- Passionate about supporting young people aged 14-19 and adult learners.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Confident using industry-standard equipment and maintaining professional standards.
- An excellent communicator with strong IT, written and verbal skills.
- Committed to health and safety, safeguarding and creating positive learning experiences.
