THE ROLE
As an MET Strip Fitter, you will be responsible for removing, repairing, and refitting mechanical, electrical, and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring every repair is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim components on a wide range of vehicles
- Diagnose damaged components and identify repair or replacement requirements
- Carry out repairs in line with manufacturer repair methods and industry best practice
- Work closely with Panel Technicians and Paint Technicians to ensure repairs progress efficiently
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure all work meets company and manufacturer standards
- Accurately complete repair documentation and update job records
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Ensure repairs are completed within agreed timescales while maintaining exceptional workmanship
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced and quality-driven MET Strip Fitter who takes pride in delivering first-class repairs and enjoys working within a fast-paced accident repair centre.
- Previous experience as an MET Strip Fitter or MET Technician within an automotive bodyshop
- Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical, and trim systems
- Experience working on modern vehicle technology, including ADAS-equipped vehicles
- Ability to diagnose repair requirements and complete repairs efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Full UK Driving Licence
- ATA Accreditation advantageous but not essential
