The Graduate Admissions team is responsible for all admissions to UCL’s graduate taught, research and affiliate programmes. It handles approximately 80,000 applications per cycle and is responsible for admitting approximately 18,500 students in each academic year. The Admissions function is critical in ensuring that UCL secures the desired number of students to meet UCL’s aspirations in terms of securing and maintaining a well-qualified, balanced student body and associated tuition fee income.
We are seeking to recruit an Admissions Officer on a time limited maternity cover basis to work in our centralised graduate admissions team where they will be actively engaged in key aspects of graduate admissions administration, principally for applications received directly to UCL. The postholder will undertake all aspects of application processing, including assessing and making selection decisions on applications against agreed criteria. They will also be responsible for responding to queries from applicants and work colleagues, in addition to preparing documentation to support applicants applying for a visa through the Home Office points based immigration system.
Please note, this is a maternity cover role available from the 30th July 2026 to the 28th July 2027 or the return of the original postholder, whichever is sooner.
If you have any queries about the roles, please contact Tom Haskell at: [email protected]
This role does not meet the requirements for a Skilled Worker visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require a right to work in the UK
The successful candidate must have experience of admissions in a higher education setting and will have excellent organisational skills, together with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure. The nature of the role requires an individual with good interpersonal skills who is able to work successfully in a team.
