The opportunity
Uplift Care Group is a CQC-registered provider preparing to open a supported living service for adults with mental health needs in Grays, Thurrock. Our properties are ready, our model is built, and we are in active contact with placing authorities across Essex and the wider region.
We are looking for a Registered Manager to register with the CQC for this service and lead it as it grows. This is a genuine ground-floor role: you'll help shape the service from day one and build something you can be proud of.
We understand that joining a service before it has taken its first placements is a big ask financially. So this role is designed to work around that:
- You can remain in your current role during the set-up and registration period. There are no service users to manage yet, and we don't expect you to give up paid work while your CQC application is processed.
- The role starts part-time and scales up — in hours and in pay — as placements come in and the service becomes operational.
- As we take our first placements, you step into day-to-day leadership of the service as its Registered Manager.
If you're an experienced manager looking for a part-time registration, or a strong deputy or team leader ready to step up into your first Registered Manager role, we'd like to hear from you.
What you'll do
- Register with the CQC as Registered Manager for our Grays supported living service
- Work with the Director/Nominated Individual to finalise systems, policies and readiness ahead of the first placements
- Once operational, take day-to-day charge of the regulated activity: staffing, care planning, safeguarding, quality and CQC compliance
- Build and lead a values-based support team as the service grows
- Be the service's link with commissioners, families and clinical partners
What we're looking for
- Eligible to register as a CQC Registered Manager (or ready to apply)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards / willing to complete)
- Experience in adult social care, ideally supported living and/or mental health
- Strong working knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 regulations, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983
- The values and drive to build a service the right way from the start
What we offer
- A genuine opportunity to hold your own CQC registration and lead a service you help build
- Flexibility during set-up — keep your current role while we get registered
- Pay and hours that grow with the service (details discussed with the right candidate)
- Real autonomy and the backing of a committed, hands-on Director
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £42,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
