This paid apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy dental practice while working towards a professional qualification in Dental Nursing. Your apprenticeship training will be delivered through Education4Dental, alongside valuable practical experience within the practice.
The role is initially 30 hours per week, with the hours expected to increase when a new dentist joins the practice.

Hours & Working Pattern
The initial working pattern is:
- Monday: 8:45–5:30
- Wednesday: 8:45–5:30
- Thursday: 8:45–1:00
- Friday: 8:45–5:30
- Saturday: 8:30–1:30
There will be a 1-hour unpaid lunch break on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Total: 30 hours per week.
Please note that the final working pattern will be confirmed once the day of your online apprenticeship lessons with Education4Dental has been allocated.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized
- Support patient care by providing reassurance, explaining treatments and ensuring their comfort throughout visits
- Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems, including treatment notes and appointment schedules
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary equipment and ensure cleanliness and infection control standards are maintained
- Manage appointment bookings, reminders and follow-up communications to help keep the practice running smoothly
- Support administrative tasks such as stock management and ordering supplies to ensure the practice is well-equipped
- Communicate effectively with patients in clear English, addressing questions and providing instructions for post-treatment care
- Work as part of the wider dental team and assist colleagues where required

Training & Development
This apprenticeship is designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in dental nursing.
The apprenticeship training will be provided by Education4Dental, giving you the opportunity to work towards your professional dental nursing qualification while gaining valuable hands-on experience within the practice.
You will receive support and guidance from the dental team throughout your apprenticeship and will have the opportunity to develop your clinical, communication and patient-care skills in a real dental practice environment.
