Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Baby Room Leader to join our childcare team. This vital role involves supporting the management of the nursery’s baby room, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants. The Deputy Baby Room Leader will work closely with the Lead Practitioner to deliver high-quality care and early childhood education well-being in accordance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, childcare experience, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
Duties
- Assist the Baby Room Leader in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Supervise and support nursery staff in delivering consistent, high-quality care to infants.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the nursery environment.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any incidents or concerns.
- Support effective communication with parents and carers regarding their child's development and daily routines.
- Contribute to creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages children’s independence and curiosity.
- Assist in organising daily routines such as feeding, nappy changing, and sleep schedules in line with individual needs.
- Support ongoing staff training and professional development initiatives within the nursery team.
- Participate in regular team meetings to review practice and improve service delivery.
- Level 3 qualified
- If you have Previous management or leadership experience within early childhood education is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and safeguarding procedures.
- Familiarity with early childhood development principles and best practices in nursery care.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with colleagues and parents.

Pay: £12.00-£13.06 per hour
