Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our vibrant care home team. Senior Care Assistants may be expected to cover occasional Night shift duties.
Duties
- Deliver compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication management
- Supervise and support care assistants, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery
- Develop, review, and update individual care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities using IT systems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote a positive and transparent environment
- Support residents’ social engagement by organizing activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Administration of medications
Experience
- Proven experience working in a care home environment with senior or vulnerable adults
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care setting
- Knowledge of creating and implementing personalized care plans
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with IT systems used for documentation and care management
- Previous experience in senior care roles demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism
