We are seeking a compassionate and experienced disability carer to support a 37-year-old male client living with Epilepsy in the SW19 area of Merton. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated carer to join a well-established care arrangement with a long-standing, supportive family. They are a lovely family to work with.
About the Role The client requires visiting care across three days per week, totalling 25-30 hours per week. The successful candidate will provide consistent, person-centred support tailored to the client's individual needs and routines.
Care Needs
- Supporting a young adult male living with Epilepsy, including awareness and appropriate response to seizure activity
- Assisting with daily living activities and personal care as required
- Providing physical and emotional support in line with the client's preferences and independence goals
- Promoting dignity, wellbeing, and quality of life
Requirements
- Prior experience supporting individuals with Epilepsy or other neurological conditions is desirable
- Experience with hoisting devices
- Confidence in seizure first aid and emergency response protocols
- A driving licence is preferred but not required
- Reliability, trustworthiness, and a calm, patient manner are essential
What to Expect This role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term relationship with both the client and the family. The current carer has been in post for 11 years, which reflects the stability and dedication this family values. The incoming carer may initially work alongside the existing carer in a cover capacity, with the potential to transition into a more permanent, primary carer role over time. There may also be scope for a second carer to be brought on board, making this an opportunity to be part of a small, committed care team.
