The Senior Technical Engineer is responsible for leading and delivering technical engineering initiatives that drive facility performance improvements at EMA and LHR HUBs. The role focuses on efficiency, productivity, capacity and health & safety performance improvements and cost savings through the development of engineered solutions aligned with strategic business priorities compliant with global engineering standards.
- Lead and prioritise engineering initiatives to support key business objectives and achieve agreed performance targets, including efficiency, productivity, capacity and health & safety KPIs.
- Manage and deliver technical engineering projects, ensuring solutions are implemented on time, within budget and with minimal impact on operational continuity.
- Collaborate with local, regional, and global engineering teams to review designs against global standards and evaluate technical options.
- Develop engineered solutions and detailed technical designs that support business requirements and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to obtain accurate designs, specifications, and costed quotations.
- Provide technical input into capital and operational business cases, including cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments.
- Assess existing facility layouts and Material Handling Equipment to evaluate operational capability and capacity against forecasted volumes.
- Ensure all engineering solutions comply with internal policies, industry standards, and health & safety legislation.
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

Desirable
- Engineering and/or Project Management qualification
- 5 years’ experience in Engineering and/or Project Management roles
- Proven experience delivering technical engineering projects in operational environments
- PRINCE2/AGILE Foundation
- CAD (layout drawings)
Preferred
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical/electrical)
- PRINCE2/AGILE Practitioner
- Lean/ Six Sigma qualification (Green or Black Belt)
- IOSH or site safety qualification (e.g. SMSTS)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capability
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Effective stakeholder communication and contractor management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong health & safety awareness
English (fluent)
This is an individual contributor role with no direct budgetary responsibility. Occasional travel is required.
