Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and self-motivated part time Self Employed Seamstress to join and assist our Tailor. The successful candidate will be responsible for sewing garment and textile alterations as per the instructions of our Tailor and work independently to meet client specifications. The ideal applicant will have a passion for fashion and textiles, with a keen eye for detail, craftsmanship and be able to follow instructions.
Duties
- Sew and repair clothing / textiles according to the Tailors request and specifications
- Select appropriate fabrics, threads, and accessories for each project
- Maintain a clean, organised workspace with all sewing tools and materials
- Communicate effectively with our Tailor regarding progress and adjustments
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
- Keep up-to-date with current fashion trends and sewing techniques to enhance craftsmanship
Experience
- Proven experience as a seamstress or dressmaker
- Proficiency in using various sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques
- Knowledge of different fabrics, textiles, and garment construction methods
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements and stitching
- Ability to interpret verbal instructions accurately
- Experience working independently in a self-employed capacity is required
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects

Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
