We are looking for an outgoing, confident and experienced nursery professional to join our team as Baby Nursery Team Leader, leading our dedicated baby nursery in Kennington, SE11.
Our baby nursery cares for up to 21 babies each day, aged from 6 to 20 months. We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring practitioner who understands the importance of providing babies with a warm, nurturing and responsive environment where they feel safe, secure and confident to explore and learn.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced nursery professional who is passionate about babies and wants to take the lead in creating an outstanding environment for both children and staff. The role is 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
We are looking for an outstanding practitioner with:

You will be required to:
- Lead and support the baby nursery team, ensuring consistently high standards of care and education
- Ensure all babies are cared for in a safe, nurturing, comforting and happy environment
- Develop strong, secure relationships with babies and ensure their individual needs, routines and interests are understood and respected
- Support the team in providing responsive care, including feeding, sleep, nappy changing and personal care
- Liaise warmly and professionally with parents each day, sharing information about their child's development, activities, routines and day-to-day experiences
- Plan, implement and evaluate appropriate learning and development opportunities for babies, working closely with the staff team
- Ensure assessments and planning are completed to a high standard and are used effectively to support each child's development
- Create an engaging environment that encourages babies to explore, investigate and develop at their own pace
- Lead by example, supporting and developing practitioners to achieve their potential
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and care
- Work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth running of the baby nursery
The right candidate would:
- Be at least Level 3 qualified
- Have at least 1 year of Room Leader, Team Leader or Senior Practitioner experience in a nursery setting
- Ideally have strong experience working with babies and children under two
- Have a sound understanding of the EYFS and current best practice in early years
- Be confident leading and supporting a team
- Work well as part of a wider nursery team
- Be organised, reliable and able to use their initiative
- Have excellent communication skills and be confident building relationships with parents

About the Nursery
Our baby nursery cares for up to 21 babies each day, aged from 6 to 20 months and forms part of our wider nursery provision in Kennington.
The nursery is open 50 weeks a year, closing for 2 weeks over the Christmas period. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, working on a shift basis.
We are conveniently located within excellent transport links, just a 5-minute walk from Kennington Tube Station (Northern Line) and a 10-minute walk from Vauxhall Station (Victoria Line and South Western Railway).
