To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across student accommodation facilities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation in all communal, residential, and operational areas. The role contributes directly to the comfort, wellbeing, and satisfaction of residents and visitors.
Key Objectives
· Deliver consistent and high-quality cleaning services across designated areas.
· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
· Support a welcoming and well-maintained living environment for students.
· Work collaboratively with the wider facilities and accommodation team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Carry out daily cleaning tasks in communal areas, corridors, kitchens, bathrooms, and other designated spaces.
· Perform deep cleaning duties during student changeovers, term breaks, or as scheduled.
· Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet paper, and bin liners as required.
· Safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations and training.
· Report maintenance issues, health and safety concerns, or damage to the appropriate team.
· Ensure waste is collected, sorted, and disposed of correctly in line with recycling and environmental policies.
· Maintain cleaning records and checklists as required.
· Support occasional setup or cleaning for events, inspections, or emergency response.
· Wear appropriate uniform and PPE, and maintain a professional appearance at all times.

· Maintain vigilance in identifying and reporting health and safety concerns across all cleaning zones and communal areas.
· Positively represent the organisation through professional conduct, reliability, and respectful engagement with students, staff, and visitors.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
· Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles is desirable but not essential.
· Basic understanding of health and safety and hygiene practices.
· Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage time effectively.
· Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
· Friendly and approachable attitude with a willingness to support others.
· Physical ability to carry out manual tasks and operate cleaning equipment.
· Understanding of confidentiality and respectful conduct in residential settings.

Pay: £13.45 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 – 37.5 per week
