Roofer / EstimatorJob Overview
We are seeking an experienced Roofer / Estimator to join our team. This role combines hands-on roofing work with client-facing responsibilities. The successful candidate will act as the lead roofer on-site, working alongside a labourer to complete roofing projects to a high standard, while also carrying out site inspections, meeting clients, and preparing detailed job reports for quotation purposes.
Key ResponsibilitiesRoofing Duties
- Carry out all aspects of roofing work, including repairs, maintenance, and installations.
- Lead and supervise a roofing labourer on-site.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Identify and report any issues or additional works required during projects.
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
Estimating & Client Relations
- Attend client appointments to inspect roofing works.
- Assess roof conditions and identify required repairs or replacement works.
- Take measurements, photographs, and relevant site information.
- Prepare detailed job reports and recommendations for quotation preparation.
- Communicate professionally with clients and answer basic technical queries.
- Act as a company representative and maintain strong customer relationships.
Administration & Reporting
- Complete site inspection reports accurately and promptly.
- Submit photographs, measurements, and job details to management.
- Assist with material take-offs and project planning where required.
- Maintain records of completed inspections and works.
Requirements
- Proven experience in all aspects of roofing.
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and repair methods.
- Ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a labourer effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Competent in using smartphones, tablets, and reporting software.
Desirable
- Experience preparing estimates or surveying roofing projects.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the roofing industry.
- Experience working with domestic, commercial, and heritage properties.
Salary
Competitive salary dependent on experience, plus company vehicle and other benefits where applicable.
Pay: £200.00-£250.00 per day
