Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and support to children and young people, fostering a warm and trusting environment.
- Develop and implement personalised care plans tailored to each child's needs, interests, and goals.
- Support children with their emotional well being, encouraging positive behavior and resilience.
- Assist with daily routines such as meal preparation, hygiene, education support, and recreational activities.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and care activities in accordance with organisational policies.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, social workers, and external professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Drive children safely to appointments or outings when required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Skills
- Experience working with children in residential care/ children environments, demonstrating patience and understanding.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, colleagues, and external partners.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt approaches based on individual needs.
- Some positions require a Valid driving license and ability to drive safely when transporting children or attending activities.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping, reporting, and communication purposes. (We use Mentor)
- Compassionate attitude combined with resilience to handle challenging situations positively.
- Knowledge of PACE or willingness to learn, upskill and train in PACE.
