Job Summary:
The Automotive Sales Professional is responsible for guiding customers through the selection and purchase of vehicles from our diverse and quality-assured inventory. This role involves understanding individual customer needs, expertly presenting suitable automotive options, and facilitating a seamless and transparent purchasing experience. The successful candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, comprehensive knowledge of various vehicle makes and models, and a strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer satisfaction. This position is vital in achieving sales targets and maintaining Parkland Motors' reputation as a premier destination for vehicle acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement & Needs Assessment:
Warmly greet and engage with prospective customers, both in person at the showroom and through online/phone inquiries.
Conduct thorough discussions to understand customer's vehicle requirements, budget, preferences for features, and driving needs, considering factors like mileage, vehicle history, and previous ownership.
Provide expert advice and guidance on the benefits and considerations of purchasing used cars, including warranties, service history, and independent inspection reports.
Vehicle Presentation & Demonstration:
Effectively present vehicles from our existing inventory, highlighting their unique features, condition, history, and overall value.
Conduct professional vehicle demonstrations and accompany customers on test drives, explaining controls, performance characteristics, and any notable attributes of the specific vehicle.
Address customer queries regarding vehicle history, previous ownership, and reconditioning processes.
Sales Process Management:
Negotiate sales deals for vehicles, striving for mutual satisfaction for both the customer and the dealership.
Accurately and efficiently prepare all necessary sales documentation for vehicle transactions, including sales agreements, finance applications, and trade-in valuations.
Collaborate with the finance team to present suitable finance options, extended warranties, and ancillary products tailored to our vehicle offerings.
Coordinate with the detailing and preparation teams to ensure purchased vehicles are meticulously prepared for customer handover.
Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to successful vehicle delivery and post-sale follow-up.
Customer Relationship Management:
Cultivate and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers, encouraging repeat business and referrals by delivering an exceptional buying experience.
Follow up with customers after vehicle delivery to ensure ongoing satisfaction and address any post-sale inquiries or concerns.
Handle customer objections and complaints professionally, aiming for swift and effective resolution.
Compliance & Administration:
Ensure strict adherence to all company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements, particularly those pertaining to vehicle sales and consumer rights.
Maintain accurate and detailed customer records and sales logs within the dealership's CRM system.
Essential:
Proven experience (2+ years) in a direct sales role with a strong track record of achieving targets, ideally within an automotive, retail, or high-value product sales environment.
Demonstrable experience in customer-facing roles requiring strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Desirable:
Familiarity with automotive finance products and processes relevant to vehicle sales.
Sales & Negotiation:
Exceptional sales acumen with a natural ability to understand customer buying signals and close deals effectively.
Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, balanced with an ethical and transparent approach suitable for vehicle transactions.
Ability to accurately appraise trade-in vehicles (or facilitate the appraisal process).
Communication & Interpersonal:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, articulate and professional, capable of explaining complex information about vehicles clearly.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a genuine ability to build rapport and trust with diverse customer profiles.
Active listening skills to truly understand customer needs and concerns.
Customer Service:
Unwavering commitment to delivering a transparent, honest, and exceptional customer service experience throughout the vehicle buying journey.
Proactive problem-solving attitude and ability to handle customer objections and post-sale queries with empathy.
Organizational & Administrative:
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail for processing vehicle paperwork and documentation.
Proficient in using CRM systems for lead management and customer tracking.
Ability to manage multiple customer inquiries and sales processes concurrently.
General:
Full UK driving license with a clean driving record.
