Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair heating systems including boilers, radiators, and associated pipework.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal system performance.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and plumbing techniques to complete tasks efficiently.
- Perform basic carpentry and assembly work as required during installation processes.
- Carry out heavy lifting of equipment and materials safely in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using technical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
- Maintain detailed records of work completed and parts used.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and building regulations.
- Assist with the training of junior staff or apprentices when necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience in heating system installation, maintenance, or repair is essential.
- Proficiency in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly work is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to commercial heating systems or similar machinery.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Experience with commercial driving or operating large vehicles is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments requiring heavy lifting and extended periods on your feet.
