Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fire Door Technician to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of fire doors to verify proper operation, alignment, and sealing integrity.
- Install, repair, and replace fire-rated doors and associated hardware using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
- Test fire door components such as hinges, latches, closers, and seals to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with construction teams to install fire doors in new builds or renovations, following schematics and technical specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent malfunctions and extend the lifespan of fire door systems.
- Document all inspections, repairs, and installations accurately for compliance records and reporting purposes.
- Assist with related tasks such as masonry work, construction painting, or fabrication as needed to support project requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with fire door systems or in related construction trades such as roofing or carpentry.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and installation instructions.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment necessary for precise installation and repairs.
- Familiarity with building safety codes, fire regulations, and inspection procedures.
- Ability to read technical schematics and interpret construction drawings accurately.
- Experience working across multiple trades including masonry, plastering, construction painting, or roofing is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and safety compliance.
