Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and professional Waiting Staff to join our vibrant Indian restaurant team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional guest experiences in a lively and culturally rich environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing attentive service, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting the smooth operation of the restaurant. Previous hospitality experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided to help you succeed in this dynamic setting.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements to create a welcoming atmosphere
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are accommodated
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, including traditional Indian dishes and beverages
- Upsell additional items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Clear tables promptly and assist with setting up for subsequent service periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service areas in accordance with food safety standards
- Handle guest queries professionally, resolving any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation or replenishment when required
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently, including food safety protocols
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Knowledge of Indian cuisine or culinary experience is a plus but not essential
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Good organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
- Basic maths skills for handling bills and payments accurately
- A proactive attitude towards guest services and upselling opportunities
- Familiarity with food safety standards and procedures is desirable but can be learned on the job
