The Warehouse Manager will manage the team in the following tasks:
- Manage Warehouse Operatives, including Training, working hours, annual leave, HR requests and management of your team.
- Conducting Team Briefings and attend senior management meetings on behalf of the warehouse
- 1st stage Recruitment (interviewing)
- Manage workload of all Warehouse Operatives ensuring that tasks are completed correctly and to arranged deadlines, deputise for Warehouse Operatives when required
- Work with customers and haulage companies to arrange booking in slots and shipping, including the use of third-party portal systems.
- Perform inventory checks and raise orders for warehouse consumable items such as labels, pallet wrap, etc.
- Raising inbound and outbound shipments for inhouse 3PL storage
- Ensuring cycle counts are delegated and completed
- Complete Daily warehouse checks
- Accurately pick orders using a handheld terminal
- Picking, Packing and shipping efficiently and carefully — helping to ensure that customers receive their items in an excellent condition
- Pick, Pack and receive transfer orders from warehouse to production hall
- Receiving and packing away deliveries
- Operating Counterbalance, reach truck, PPT and pump trucks in the correct way to manoeuvre stock in the warehouse from inbound to pallet storage location.
- Deputising for the Director of Operations & Projects on certain tasks during their absence.
- Making sure the Forklifts are serviced/ maintained
- General housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Ensure up to date on all company SOP’s and adhere to these, making sure the warehouse operatives are complying with these
- Adhere to all health and safety requirements
- Perform weekly Fire Alarm tests to ensure this is in good working order
- Key Holder -Opening / Closing site
- Any other reasonable Warehouse related tasks required from Senior Management team.
Experience/Skills Required
- Counterbalance and Reach truck license – valid and in date
- Previous role in a Warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Worked as supervisor, completing employee documents for their team
- Ability to lead and work within a small growing team
- Proactive mind set-finding solutions to any problems that arise
- Proficient in warehouse systems
- Basic Excel desirable
