Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter with a strong background in machine assembly and hydraulics to join our engineering team. You will play a key role in assembling, piping, testing, and servicing custom hydraulic machinery both in-house and on customer sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembling and building bespoke machinery and hydraulic presses from engineering schematics.
- Installing, testing, and maintaining comprehensive hydraulic systems.
- Precision hydraulic pipe bending, forming, and routing to specification.
- Stripping, inspecting, overhauling, and resealing hydraulic cylinders and valves.
- Conducting quality checks and system testing prior to dispatch or on customer sites.
Experience & Essential Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience in mechanical fitting and machine building.
- Practical expertise in hydraulics, pipe bending/forming, and cylinder/valve refurbishment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and hydraulic circuit diagrams.
- Full, clean UK driving licence required.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available for this role).
- Time-served apprenticeship or mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds) preferred.
What We Offer:
- Pay Rate: £17.50 – £21.00 per hour (depending on experience).
- Additional Allowances: Extra earning potential via regular Overtime + Working Out Bonus for site work.
- Work-Life Balance: Standard day shift (Mon–Fri 07:15 – 15:45) with no mandatory weekend shifts.
- Paid Time Off: 23 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays (31 days total).
Pay: £17.50-£21.00 per hour
