About Us:
As a Night Shift Warehouse Operative, you will play a vital role in the smooth and safe operation of our temperature-controlled warehouse. Working during night hours, your main responsibilities will include unloading deliveries, checking and organising stock, accurately picking and packing orders, and preparing goods for dispatch. This hands-on position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to health and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Unload deliveries from trucks and vans, either manually or using appropriate equipment
- Check incoming stock against delivery documentation and inspect for damage or discrepancies
- Sort and store items correctly across temperature zones: ambient, chilled, and frozen
- Accurately pick and prepare customer orders for dispatch
- Label and load goods onto vehicles for delivery
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet trucks (where trained)
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow
- Carry out additional warehouse duties as needed to support operations
Experience, Skills and Competencies:
- Previous warehouse experience – ideally in a fast-paced or temperature-controlled environment
- Comfortable working in varied conditions – including ambient, chilled, and frozen zones
- Physically fit – able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods as part of daily tasks
- Team player – works well with others and supports a collaborative environment
- Good communication skills – able to understand instructions and report issues clearly
- Basic computer literacy – able to use warehouse systems or handheld scanning devices
- High attention to detail – ensures accuracy when picking, packing, and checking stock
- Strong sense of responsibility – takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality work
- Problem-solving – identifying and resolving stock or delivery issues
- Adaptability – able to switch between tasks and work in different temperature zones (ambient, chilled, frozen)
- Health & safety awareness – following correct procedures to maintain a safe working environment
Desirable Qualifications:
- Full driving license (essential)
- Forklift licence – training may be provided
