Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our business for a Field Service Engineer. Global machinery Solutions are dealers for the SANY range of construction equipment covering Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, and the newly appointed region of Hertfordshire. We are looking for a well organised, passionate, and motivated individual ideally from the construction equipment background. Ideally located in or around Cambridge, Colchester, Braintree, Sudbury, Bury St Edmunds or Stow Market area.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned maintenance, service and repairs on construction equipment including but not limited to excavators, loading shovels and telehandlers.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, passion to complete a first-time fix to keep our customers operational.
- Carry out routine maintenance inspections to identify potential issues, reporting back to the service team to proactively complete repairs.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulation standards both on and off site.
- Complete LOLER inspections on equipment making sure that paperwork is accurate and correct.
- Ensure that job cards are completed in full of the correct level of detail.
- Support colleagues with technical assistance as and when required.
- Build a strong working relationship with GMS customers throughout the territory.
Essential Skills / Experience:
- You must hold a relevant mechanical qualification to at least NVQ Level 3 in plant maintenance / land-based engineering.
- You must hold a full UK driving licence and have entitlement to work in the UK.
- You will need a flexible approach to work schedules.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical principles and repair procedures
- 5+ years as a Field Service Engineer.
- Ability to apply knowledge to practical situations working on heavy plant equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions, reading and understanding electrical and hydraulic schematics and diagrams.
- You will need to be computer literate to operate the Job Sheet system on your phone/tablet.
- Be confident with customers and be able to discuss problems at all levels.
