Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Weekend Cook to provide nutritious meals for our elderly residents at The Raikes Residential Care Home. Located just 10 minutes from Ilkley and Keighley, our home offers a warm and welcoming environment for both residents and staff.
Working hours are 8am-4pm OR 7am-3pm, Saturday and Sunday. There is flexibility for this to be every weekend or alternate weekends. There is also flexibility for additional 4pm-8pm kitchen assistant shifts during the week if extra hours are required.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook delicious and nutritious meals, including home baking, for elderly residents in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
-Follow individual care plan requirements including meal fortification as advised by the dietitians.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth meal preparation and service.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation regulations.
- Assist in meal planning, inventory management, and ordering supplies as needed.
- Uphold high standards of quality and presentation in all dishes served.
- Complete regular checks and audits
Experience:
- Proven experience working as a cook in a kitchen environment, preferably in a similar setting.
-Ability to cook traditional English meals
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in meal preparation techniques and culinary skills. Knowledge of the IDDSI framework.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
