Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a self-employed, reliable and experienced Class 2 Skip Lorry Driver to join our small family run skip hire company (Barton Skips). The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery, collection and exchange of skips to and from commercial and residential sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate a Class 2 skip lorry in accordance with company and legal standards
- Deliver, collect, and exchange skips at customer sites in a safe and professional manner
- Ensure all skips are safely/securely loaded and comply with road safety regulations
- Complete all relevant paperwork and digital records accurately
- Perform daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with customers and the public
- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
- CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Must be over 35 for insurance purposes
- Good knowledge of local and regional roads
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks when necessary
Desirable:
- Knowledge of waste handling procedures and environmental regulations
- Skip lorry experience
What We Offer:
- Regular working hours and local routes
- Monday to Friday 06:45 - 16:00
Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Pay: £650.00-£800.00 per week
