The Company is at an exciting period of growth, having expanded its manufacturing capabilities to produce components for aviation refueller manufacturers. As the business continues to develop, we are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Company Accountant to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who wants to be more than just an accountant. Working within a growing manufacturing business, you will have the opportunity to become involved in the wider operation, build relationships across departments and contribute to business improvement initiatives. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, can adapt to changing priorities and is keen to play an active role in the continued success of the business.
Your hours:
Mon-Fri, 8:00am to 5pm with 30-minute lunch
Your responsibilities:
- Maintain and Reconciliation of Cashbook.
- Preparation of weekly and monthly Supplier payment runs for authorisation.
- Performing credit control function, including resolutions of outstanding queries.
- Assist with Purchasing and raising of purchase orders.
- Preparation and posting of journals entries.
· Preparation of month end Management accounts.
· Maintain and keep up to date Fixed Assets Register.
· Maintain and keep up to date the Costing of the products.
· Plan and Attend Stock Counts and Valuations thereof.
· Submission of quarterly VAT returns.
· Any other Ad-Hoc duties reasonably expected from time to time.
· Support directors and managers with commercial and operational decision-making through the provision of timely financial information and analysis.
· Work closely with production, purchasing and sales teams to improve processes and support business growth.
· Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, controls and reporting across the business.
Suitable candidates will have:
· AAT Level 4 qualified or qualified by experience with a proven track record of at least 2 years in manufacturing.
· Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, strong IT skills, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
· Motivated, analytical and capable of working independently.
· Confident communicating with colleagues at all levels and building strong working relationships across departments.
· Ability to produce accurate work in a timely manner.
· Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
· Reliable, consistent and mature approach to work.
· Commercially aware and interested in understanding how the wider business operates.
· Proactive, enthusiastic and willing to become involved in areas outside of a traditional finance role when required.
· Comfortable working within a smaller business environment where flexibility and teamwork are essential.
· Positive, approachable and keen to contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the Company.
