Pallet & Yard Operative
Permanent, Site based, Full Time, 38.75 hours, Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm

Your new role:
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Pallet & Yard Operative to support the efficient operation of our warehouse and yard facilities. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining pallet stock levels and quality standards, coordinating waste and recycling activities, and ensuring all working areas remain safe, organised and compliant.
Working closely with the Collections Supervisor and operational teams, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth flow of goods through the effective handling, grading, storage and distribution of pallets, while promoting high standards of housekeeping, health and safety, and environmental responsibility
Key Responsibilities:
· Monitor pallet stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements to the Collections Supervisor.
· Offload deliveries and verify pallet consignments against delivery documentation.
· Inspect, barcode, grade and sort Euro pallets before and after circulation.
· Identify and report pallet quality or quantity issues promptly.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to resolve pallet-related queries and operational issues.
· Coordinate waste management and recycling activities across warehouse and yard areas.
· Ensure waste materials are correctly segregated into recyclable streams, including cardboard, plastic, wood and metal.
· Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse, pallet compound and despatch yard.
· Operate equipment safely and report any faults or damage.
· Maintain house, national and guest flags in line with company requirements.
· Follow all company procedures, work instructions and safe systems of work.
· Comply with site rules relating to restricted areas, machinery and equipment.
· Contribute to a safe, productive and efficient working environment.
What you’ll need to succeed:
· Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, collections or yard-based environment is desirable.
· Experience of pallet handling, pallet grading or stock control would be advantageous.
· Forklift Truck (FLT) licence is desirable.
· Good understanding of warehouse and yard operations.
· Awareness of health and safety requirements, including safe manual handling practices.
· Knowledge of waste segregation and recycling processes.
· Strong organisational and time management skills.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
· Good attention to detail and the ability to identify quality issues.
· Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments.
· A positive, flexible attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping.

Competitive Salary: Enjoy a starting salary of £13.63 per hour / £27,455.60 per annum, with the added potential to earn an annual bonus of up to 3% of your yearly pay.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Core hours of work are 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
