Huus is looking for an enthusiastic, capable and people-focused Assistant Manager to join our team.
We are an independent home and lifestyle business offering a carefully selected collection of furniture, lighting, homeware and gifts from thoughtful UK and Northern European brands. From a beautifully made chair or statement light to the perfect gift, we love helping customers find pieces that will bring lasting enjoyment to their homes.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a central part of Huus and work across our shops in two beautiful Suffolk towns: the characterful market town of Halesworth and the much-loved coastal town of Southwold.
Working closely with the owner, you will help manage the shops, support the team and continue to deliver the excellent service and products for which Huus is known. It will be a genuine partnership: you will be trusted to take responsibility, contribute ideas and help the business continue to flourish.
No two days will be quite the same. You might be helping a customer choose the right piece of furniture, creating an inspiring new display, coordinating a special order, supporting a colleague or making sure everything is ready for a busy weekend.
We are looking for someone who:
- genuinely enjoys working with people;
- has supervisory or management experience in retail, hospitality or a similarly customer-focused business;
- has an eye for design, presentation and detail;
- is organised, dependable and happy to take responsibility;
- can combine excellent service with good commercial instincts;
- enjoys being part of a small, friendly and ambitious independent business; and
- can work flexibly across Halesworth and Southwold, including weekends.
Experience with furniture, interiors or homeware would be welcome, but enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to learn matter just as much.
