We're looking for a Control Panel Builder / Panel Wirer to join our workshop team in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

The Role
This is a hands-on position involving the manufacture, wiring, testing of industrial control panels and automation systems.
The role is predominantly workshop-based, focusing on the build and wiring of industrial electrical control panels. Occasional support with testing, commissioning and customer site visits may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and wire industrial electrical control panels to a high standard
- Assemble electrical cabinets and mechanical components
- Carry out PCB assembly and soldering
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Assist with electrical and mechanical assembly
- Test, inspect and fault-find completed control panels
- Support maintenance and upgrades to existing automation systems
- Assist with PLC, HMI and industrial communication system upgrades and maintenance
- Support the design, build, installation and commissioning of automation projects
- Maintain workshop stock and materials
- Attend customer sites for installation, commissioning, servicing and modifications when required
About You
You'll ideally have experience in electrical panel building or industrial wiring and enjoy practical, hands-on engineering work.
You'll have:
- 1–2 years' experience building or wiring electrical control panels
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Electrical qualifications or relevant practical electrical knowledge
- Good soldering skills
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Pride in producing high-quality work
- Experience in manufacturing, automation or controls is advantageous
- A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
Essential Requirements
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- Must live within approximately 30 miles of PE27 (St Ives, Cambridgeshire)
Salary & Benefits
- £16.50–£17.50 per hour (depending on experience)

- Monday to Thursday, 7:00am–4:00pm
