We are looking for an experienced self-employed carer in the Chelmsford (CM2) area to provide visiting companionship and motivational support for a client who has experienced a stroke.

2:00pm – 4:00pm

- Wednesday 26th August
- Friday 28th August
This is a great opportunity for a self-employed carer looking for flexible visiting care work.
There is also the potential for this to lead to ongoing care, providing additional support when the client's regular carer is unavailable.
About the role
The support will focus on companionship, encouragement and motivational support, helping the client to maintain confidence and independence following their stroke.
The role may include:
- Providing companionship and social interaction
- Encouraging and supporting speech and communication
- Motivating the client with activities
- Supporting the client to go out and about where appropriate
- Providing reassurance and positive encouragement
- Spending quality time with the client
There is no personal care required for this role.
Rate
£25 per hour
This is a self-employed opportunity, and you must already be registered as self-employed and able to provide evidence of your self-employed status.
Requirements
To be considered, you will need to provide:
- Valid ID
- Right to Work in the UK
- Public Liability Insurance
- Proof of self-employment – HMRC documentation or a tax returns letter displaying your name and UTR
- DBS certificate registered on the Update Service
- Relevant training certificates dated within the last 12 months:
- Basic Life Support
- Manual Handling
- Medication Awareness
- Safeguarding
- Dementia Care
- Up-to-date CV, including a completed employment gap explanation
- Care references, including client or employer details, dates of employment, name, telephone number and email address
- Completion of a recruitment video call/interview
- Completion of a Health Questionnaire
- A suitable profile picture to share with clients
- Confirmation of your location in the UK
- Full UK driving licence and licence code generator, where applicable
- Confirmation of whether you are looking for visiting care, live-in care, or both
