Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Care Team Leader to oversee and coordinate care services within our care home environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents, and maintaining compliance with care standards. This role offers an opportunity to lead a compassionate team committed to enhancing the wellbeing of our residents through personalised care plans and effective communication. The Care Team Leader will also be responsible for supporting staff development and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of care assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent resident care
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor the delivery of care to ensure it meets regulatory standards and organisational policies
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and with residents’ families to promote transparency and trust
- Conduct regular staff supervision sessions, appraisals, and training to foster professional development
- Support residents with daily activities, promoting independence whilst respecting their dignity and preferences
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care environment
- Assist with administrative duties using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Drive organisational initiatives aimed at improving resident satisfaction and staff engagement
- Ensure robust medication management and administration
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a care home or senior care setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an empathetic approach towards residents and staff
- Knowledge of care planning processes and regulatory standards in adult social care
- IT literacy skills for managing electronic records and documentation effectively
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation responsibilities or organisational needs
- Experience working in a senior or specialised care environment is advantageous
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required, demonstrating organisational skills and resilience
