Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team. This role requires an individual who is able prepared to work alone or to work intensively alongside the team to ensure the successful and timely completion of high-quality metal works.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in fabricating metal structures to a consistently high standard. This includes the production of railings, handrails, balustrades, stairs, and various other bespoke metal components. Competence in interpreting technical drawings and following fabrication instructions is essential, ensuring that all work is carried out accurately. The candidate should also be attentive in identifying and reporting any potential issues that may arise during the structural fabrication process, maintaining the integrity and quality of all finished products.
Duties
- Fabrication Expertise: Fabricate of metal structures such as railings, handrails, balustrades, gates, stairs and other metal structures. working alone or directly alongside your precision and quality.
- High Welding & Metal Work fabrication: Perform welding tasks, ensuring all welds are secure, accurate, and meet industry standards, and assist your team with any welding needs.
- Drawing Interpretation: Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure that metal components are fabricated correctly, according to specifications.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a strict focus on safety, both for yourself and the team around you. Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with health and safety regulations, and that all tools and equipment are safely used.
- Health & Safety Management: Adhere to safety standards, make sure that proper PPE is used, and that tools and equipment are used safely.
- Equipment Handling: Operate, maintain, and ensure proper use of machinery, hand tools, and equipment, leading by example in safe and efficient operations.
- Problem-Solving: Quickly and effectively resolve any issues with the Fabrication process, ensuring minimal disruption to the project timeline.
- Off-site work – when the business or job requires, visit location and assist or lead on installation of fabricated works.
Requirements & Experience
- CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
- Full UK Driving License (Ability to travel to various locations across London)
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in metalwork installation, particularly in the installation of railings, handrails, balustrades, and stairs.
- Welding Skills: Proficient in welding techniques such as MIG/TIG welding with the ability to perform high-quality welds.
- Time Management: Ability to effectively manage time to ensure installations are completed on schedule.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to work on different types of projects (residential, commercial, bespoke installations, etc.).
- Quality Control: Ability to carry out quality checks on both materials and fabrication to ensure everything is up to spec before handover.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and understand detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate instructions with teams.
- Physical Fitness: Able to handle the physical demands of the role, including lifting heavy materials.
- Health & Safety Awareness: Understanding of basic site safety protocols and the ability to follow them closely.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £18.00-£24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
