As Bartender, you bring energy, personality and genuine hospitality to the bar, playing an important role in every guest experience through your warmth, knowledge, professionalism and passion for great drinks.
Working closely with the Bar Manager and wider Front of House team, you will help create a welcoming, confident and well-organised bar where guests feel looked after and the team enjoys working together.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of Dover Street Counter. We are looking for someone who loves great drinks, genuinely enjoys looking after people and takes pride in delivering brilliant service every time.
Duties
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience through genuine hospitality and attention to detail.
- Prepare and serve drinks consistently to our recipes and presentation standards.
- Welcome and engage with guests with warmth, personality and confidence.
- Develop strong knowledge of our cocktails, wines, beers, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks.
- Make thoughtful recommendations and help guests find drinks they’ll love.
- Maintain consistently high standards across drinks, presentation and service.
- Keep the bar clean, organised, fully stocked and ready for every service.
- Complete opening, preparation and closing duties to a high standard.
- Follow correct stock rotation, storage and wastage procedures.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, health & safety and licensing compliance.
- Communicate clearly with the floor, kitchen and wider team throughout service.
- Support your colleagues and contribute to a positive, respectful and energetic working environment.
- Represent the Dover Street Counter brand with pride.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for hospitality, drinks and looking after people.
- Previous bartending experience within a busy, high-quality-driven restaurant or bar.
- Good knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and beer.
- Warm, approachable and naturally engaging.
- Confident communicating with guests and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation.
- Organised and able to work efficiently during busy services.
- Positive, calm and solutions-focused under pressure.
- A strong team player who supports the people around them.
- Curious and eager to continue developing their drinks and product knowledge.
- Good communication and table serving skills are a plus for this role.
