Responsible Individual – Children’s Residential Home (Enfield)
Overview
Our client is looking for a passionate, experienced and ambitious Responsible Individual to help lead the launch and day-to-day running of their home. A beautiful 1-placement home designed to support young people aged 7–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
You'll have the autonomy to build a culture of excellence and care, backed by robust systems, investment and a long-term growth plan that reflects our belief in doing things the right way.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to work closely with the Registered Manager, providing strategic oversight and ensuring the home consistently delivers high-quality, compliant, and child-centred care. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building a service that aspires to achieve and maintain an Outstanding Ofsted rating.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the home’s operations

Lead the Ofsted registration process and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance

Support, supervise, and challenge the Registered Manager to drive high performance

Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and quality assurance processes

Review and sign off Regulation 45 reports and internal audits

Develop and maintain strong relationships with Ofsted, commissioners, and local authorities

Drive continuous improvement across culture, systems, and practice

Ensure the home remains inspection-ready and aligned with best practice
Candidate Profile

NVQ Level 5 Required for this role

Previous experience as a Responsible Individual, or a senior Registered Manager ready to step up

Strong working knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and the Ofsted framework

Demonstrable leadership in safeguarding and compliance

Confident communicator with the ability to support, challenge, and hold teams accountable
