About the Role
As our People Business Partner, you’re not just an HR touchpoint—you’re a trusted strategic partner. You’ll spend your time balancing long-term organizational planning with fast, high-quality execution. You’re someone who loves to think big picture but isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves. Your ultimate goal? Designing a truly world-class experience for all Zepz employees and leaders.
What You Will Focus On
- Forward-Looking Strategy: Act as the senior people partner with a very Commercial focus, operating as a genuine talent partner on people strategy and organisational matters.
- Tech-Driven Capability: Translate business strategy into people priorities, ensuring the organization has the structure, capability, and culture to execute in an automation and AI focussed work environment.
- Commercially Grounded Advice: Provide data-backed, commercially grounded advice on workforce planning, organisational design, and headcount strategy.
Organisational Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement
- Opex Management: Support regional headcount governance, partnering closely with Finance and business leaders to align hiring and operational expenditure (OpEx) with agreed budgets.
- Transformation: Lead on change management for significant business transformations, bringing both rigour and humanity to how change is delivered, while actively identifying opportunities to embed automated systems that streamline operational transitions.2
- Advanced Data Diagnosis: Use people data and automated dashboards to drive evidence-based decision-making.
Talent, Performance & Engagement
- Succession Planning: Work with the CPO, People Director and business leaders to identify and develop critical talent, build automated succession pipelines, and ensure the right people are in the right roles.
- Performance Frameworks: Shape and embed performance frameworks that are fit for a fast-moving, high-growth environment, incorporating continuous feedback mechanisms.
- Culture Activism: Be a guardian and activist for culture—helping leaders understand their role in shaping an inclusive, psychologically safe environment where teams leverage modern AI tools responsibly to maximize output
Tactical Advisory & Senior Manager Support
- Management support: Serve as the trusted, on-the-ground People partner for specific functions across the Group, building strong advisory relationships with senior managers and team leaders.
- Strategic planning: Partner with the wider People Team to translate and implement global strategies, OKRs, and the core pillars of the People Plan (Capability, Culture, and Operating Model).
- Functional Leadership Support: Attend and actively contribute to functional leadership weekly meetings, bringing a strategic People perspective to Functional workforce design.1
Complex Employee Relations & Legislation
- High-Risk ER management: Own and manage complex, sensitive, or high-risk Employee Relations (ER) casework with complete fairness and confidence.1
- Employment legislation knowledge: Maintain a thorough, current working knowledge of regional employment legislation to identify, highlight and manage legal risk.
- ER Coaching / knowledge sharing: Coach and upskill senior managers through advanced ER challenges, termination frameworks, and disciplinary processes, escalating structural risks directly to the Director.
AI Literacy & Tools
As Zepz continues to build AI into how we work, we expect everyone to engage with it as a core part of their role. For this position we are looking for:
- A genuine curiosity about AI and how it can be applied in your area of work — from accelerating analysis and insight generation, to improving how we design and deliver processes and communications.
- Practical experience using AI tools in a professional context — whether to connect information, draft content, build frameworks, or create insights from data. We want people who actively use AI to increase productivity, not those who are waiting to be told to.
- Strong AI literacy — an understanding of what AI assistants can and cannot do, how to prompt effectively, and how to critically evaluate AI-generated output before using it.
- Awareness of the ethical considerations and responsible use of AI in the workplace, particularly in the context of sensitive data, customer experience, and compliance.
- Prior experience using Claude (Anthropic) is a nice-to-have but not essential — what matters most is that you are genuinely engaged with AI as a tool, comfortable experimenting, and eager to share what works with your wider team
