Centenary House is a large residential Lifehouse supporting men aged 18 and over who are experiencing homelessness. We are looking for a Specialist Support Worker to deliver high-quality, person-centred support that helps clients build confidence, develop independence and make positive life choices.
As a Specialist Support Worker, you will take a lead role in a specialist area, programme or team, helping to plan and deliver an enhanced support service that promotes client choice and control. You will support clients to identify needs, manage risk, develop outcome-focused support plans and access the right services to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
You will contribute to service development, support complex cases, work with partner agencies and help design in-house support provision. The role also includes staff training, on-call responsibilities, line management duties and participation in the management or duty management rota as required.
The successful candidate will bring:

NVQ Level 4 qualification, or equivalent, in a related field, or a willingness to work towards this.

Knowledge of the benefits system and understanding of supportive housing funding streams and reporting requirements.

The ability to plan, deliver and evaluate specialist client-focused services, including holistic support needs and risk assessments.

Knowledge of legislation relating to Health & Safety and Safeguarding of clients and staff.

Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clients

Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational and IT skills.

A commitment to continuous professional development and to working within, being empathic with and promoting the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army.
