Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £45,000 per annum (salary under review)

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights)

Red Recruitment 24:7 are advertising on behalf of our client for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment based in North Scarle.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in maintaining and improving site performance, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting continuous improvement across production.
The Role
You will be responsible for supporting the engineering team in delivering an effective maintenance programme through planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance. The role requires a proactive approach to fault finding, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned, predictive, and condition-based maintenance across site
- Provide rapid response to breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Support production teams to improve efficiency and plant performance
- Assist with engineering projects, installations, and improvement works
- Work closely with contractors and ensure work is completed to standard
- Maintain accurate engineering logs, reports, and maintenance records
- Monitor and control engineering materials, costs, and stores usage
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Ensure high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and site compliance
- Support site services maintenance and equipment management
Health & Safety
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and site procedures
- Carry out pre-start safety checks on machinery and equipment
- Support risk assessments and safe working practices
- Promote a strong safety culture across the site
- Report incidents, hazards, and near misses accurately
- Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental and ethical standards
Requirements
- Apprentice trained or relevant engineering qualification
- Electrical experience preferred
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Computer literate with ability to maintain accurate records
- Proactive attitude with willingness to learn and develop
