Quality Inspector – Roles & Responsibilities
Department: Production / Reports To: Production Manager / Operations Manager
Job Purpose
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring all incoming parts and completed vehicles meet the company’s quality standards before being accepted into stock or released to customers. The role is critical in maintaining build quality, supplier standards, customer satisfaction, and compliance across all vehicle conversions and manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities
Incoming Goods Inspection
· Inspect all incoming parts, components, and materials prior to booking into stock.
· Check deliveries against purchase orders, specifications, and quality standards.
· Identify damaged, defective, incorrect, or non-conforming parts.
· Quarantine and report non-conforming items to purchasing and management teams.
· Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
· Liaise with suppliers regarding quality concerns and corrective actions where required.
· Ensure all stock accepted into stores meets company standards.
Vehicle Quality Inspection & PDI
· Carry out full quality inspections on completed vehicles prior to customer handover.
· Conduct PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) checks to ensure vehicles are fully completed, safe, clean, and defect free.
· Inspect vehicle bodywork, trim, upholstery, paint finish, and overall presentation standards.
· Ensure all customer specifications and build requirements have been completed accurately.
· Identify defects, incomplete work, or quality concerns and coordinate rectification with production teams.
· Sign off completed vehicles only when all quality standards have been achieved.
Pay: £36,000.00 per year
