About the Role
A high-end furniture and joinery specialist is looking for a Technical Designer with a cabinet-making background to join its growing team.
Despite the job title, this is a fully office-based technical design position with no requirement to work in the workshop or on the bench. The client is particularly interested in designers who began their careers as Cabinet Makers, as this practical experience helps them produce accurate, manufacturable joinery designs.
You’ll create detailed technical drawings for prestigious bespoke furniture and joinery projects, working closely with designers, project managers and the workshop team.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed technical drawings and joinery details using AutoCAD
- Develop design concepts into accurate, production-ready information
- Apply cabinet-making knowledge to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
- Resolve technical and construction challenges before projects reach production
- Liaise with designers, project managers and workshop teams
- Maintain accuracy across drawings, specifications and project documentation
- Support the successful delivery of high-quality bespoke joinery projects
What We’re Looking For
- Previous hands-on experience as a Cabinet Maker
- Experience working in technical design, drawing or joinery engineering
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- A thorough understanding of bespoke furniture and joinery construction
- Ability to produce clear, accurate and manufacturable technical drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
