Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner- Room Leader to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment where young children can explore, learn, and develop essential skills. As a Room Leader, you will lead a team of childcare professionals, ensuring high standards of care and education are consistently met. Duties
- Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring they are developmentally appropriate and stimulating for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Plan and implement educational programs that promote childhood development, social skills, and emotional well-being
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment that adheres to health and safety regulations
- Support children’s individual needs through tailored care plans, especially for those with special educational requirements or disabilities
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation and respect among children
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to share progress updates, address concerns, and build strong relationships
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality care and education
- Conduct regular risk assessments and emergency procedures training, including first aid certification compliance
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare setting such as daycare, preschool, or nannying roles
- Strong room management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices, including EYFS 2025
- Experience caring for infants, toddlers, or children with special needs or disabilities is highly desirable
- Prior experience with behaviour management techniques in early childhood environments
- Certification in first aid is required; additional qualifications in special education or early childhood teaching are advantageous. We can organise First Aid training for you
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative atmosphere
