About Blackout
Blackout is a leading supplier of drapes, rigging and automation solutions to the live entertainment industry. We work on some of the UK's most exciting theatre, television, film and live event productions, and we're looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Assistant / Van Driver to join our busy warehouse team.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of our warehouse while also carrying out deliveries and collections using our company vehicles.
The Role
As a Warehouse Assistant / Van Driver, your responsibilities will include:
- Picking and preparing customer orders.
- Scanning drapes and rigging equipment in and out of the warehouse.
- Loading and unloading company vehicles.
- Carrying out deliveries and collections as required.
- Driving company vans safely and professionally.
- Cleaning, inspecting and maintaining drapes, including shaking, brushing, vacuuming, folding and rolling.
- Carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Performing general warehouse housekeeping to ensure a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Assisting with quality control and ensuring equipment is stored correctly.
- Helping other departments when required and developing knowledge across all warehouse functions.
- Assisting with the cleaning, basic maintenance and presentation of the company vehicle fleet.
- Following all company health and safety procedures.
- Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the role.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds a full, clean UK driving licence.
- Is reliable, hardworking and takes pride in their work.
- Enjoys working as part of a team but can also work independently using their own initiative.
- Has a flexible approach and is willing to support different areas of the business.
- Can work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Has good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Is willing to work overtime when business needs require it.
- Has previous warehouse or delivery driving experience (desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided).
