Volunteering Role Overview
The Fundraising Lead supports the growth and sustainability of East Coast Pride by developing and delivering creative fundraising activities throughout the year. Working closely with the Board and Volunteer Team, they will coordinate appeals, campaigns, and community initiatives that raise vital funds to support Pride events, outreach, and inclusion projects across the East Coast.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organising events, building community connections, and finding imaginative ways to generate income that celebrates local pride and spirit.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an annual fundraising plan that supports East Coast Pride’s charitable objectives.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events (e.g. raffles, community collections, online campaigns, benefit nights, auctions, and merchandise sales).
- Support online and digital fundraising, including donation platforms, social media appeals, and QR/donation links at events.
- Recruit, brief, and support fundraising volunteers to help with collections, raffles, and ticketed activities.
- Collaborate with the Sponsorship & Partnerships Lead to identify joint opportunities with local businesses and community groups.
- Ensure compliance with charity fundraising regulations and maintain accurate financial records of income raised.
- Promote and celebrate fundraising achievements across East Coast Pride’s communication channels.
- Report regularly to the Board of Trustees on fundraising performance, targets, and impact.
Experience
- Experience in community fundraising, events coordination, or charity campaigns (desirable but not essential).
- Strong organisation and planning skills, with attention to detail.
- Creative thinker, able to spot opportunities to raise funds and engage supporters.
- Confident communicator who enjoys motivating others and promoting a cause.
- Comfortable handling basic financial tracking (training provided).

Key Information
- Remuneration: The role is not accompanied by any financial remuneration, although expenses for travel may be claimed where finances and allocation allow.
- Time commitment: Flexible volunteer role, but in the region of 5-10 hours per week depending on commitment. Attendance at fortnightly Pride Committee meetings, as well as ad hoc meetings with other volunteers.
