Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team, providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and play. The ideal candidate will have passion, enthusiasm and experience working with children. As a Play Worker, you will play a crucial role in fostering children's development through creative play and structured activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children in various play activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate games and activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
- Communicate effectively with children, encouraging their participation and fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Manage behaviour in a constructive manner, promoting respect and cooperation among children.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive environment that caters to the diverse needs of all children.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the play area, ensuring it is safe and welcoming for all users.
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, providing updates on their children's progress and experiences.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Training required in safeguarding, food hygiene and 1st aid- all will be paid for and provided.
- A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications would be advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire children.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A genuine passion for working with children and understanding their developmental needs.
- Ability to drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences through play.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment.
