Job Overview
Hinchliffe Hydraulics is seeking a motivated Hose Technician & Sales Specialist to join our team in Scunthorpe. This varied role combines hands-on technical work with customer service and sales, including hose assembly (full training provided), serving customers at the counter, handling enquiries, managing goods in, and supporting stock control. The role also includes participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota to support urgent customer needs. Responsibilities
Customer Service & Counter Sales
Welcome customers in a professional and friendly manner, helping them identify the correct hose products and accessories. You’ll also process sales and support general counter operations.
Goods In & Stock Control
Receive incoming deliveries, maintain accurate stock records, and ensure products are organised and stored correctly.
Hose Assembly (Full Training Provided)
Learn to manufacture high-quality hose assemblies. A strong willingness to learn, retain technical information, and develop practical skills is essential.
Telephone Support
Handle customer enquiries by phone, providing product advice, technical guidance, and pricing information in a clear and professional manner.
Call-Out Rota Participation
Take part in an out-of-hours call-out rota to support urgent hose repairs and replacements. Flexibility is important to ensure we deliver responsive service when customers need it most.
What We’re Looking For
- Self-motivated and adaptable attitude
- Strong willingness to learn new technical skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic IT skills for stock control and sales processing
- Full, clean UK driving licence
Pay: £13.00-£17.00 per hour
