Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Oversee all aspects of food production, including cooking, plating, and presentation
- Develop and refine menus in collaboration with management, ensuring variety and quality
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen operations
- Train and mentor team members to enhance their culinary skills and professional development
- Ensure timely delivery of dishes while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness to uphold a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
- Extensive culinary knowledge with the ability to innovate and adapt recipes as needed
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Leadership qualities that motivate and inspire team members
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer service principles
- Previous experience in hospitality or catering environments is highly desirable
