The Opportunity
Anthem Music School is looking for a confident, friendly and engaging Singing Teacher to join our growing teaching team.
We’re looking for someone who loves working with children, brings plenty of energy and personality to their teaching and can help young singers develop their technique, confidence and performance skills.
The role will initially involve approximately 6.5 hours of teaching per week, with the opportunity for the Monday schedule to grow further as student numbers increase.
Current Teaching Hours
- Monday: 4:00pm – 6:50pm, with a view to growing to 4:00pm – 8:00pm
- Wednesday: 4:30pm – 8:10pm
There may also be opportunities to take on additional teaching as the school continues to grow.
Pay Scale
Tutors start from £18 per hour, depending on experience, with regular reviews and a progression pathway up to £25 per hour.
About the Role
You will primarily deliver engaging small-group singing lessons to children and young people.
Anthem provides structured lesson frameworks, song resources and teaching materials, allowing you to concentrate on delivering brilliant lessons and helping students make progress.
Our approach is fun and performance-focused. Students work on vocal technique, songs and performance skills, with regular opportunities to perform at Anthem shows and live events.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured small-group singing lessons
- Demonstrate vocal exercises, songs and techniques clearly
- Help students develop pitch, rhythm, projection and vocal confidence
- Follow Anthem's lesson framework while adapting to individual students where needed
- Keep lessons moving at a good pace and involve all students
- Write brief weekly lesson notes and set appropriate practice tasks
- Encourage confidence, participation and enjoyment
- Prepare students for performances and live events
- Communicate professionally with the Anthem team
- Be reliable and consistent with your agreed weekly timetable
The Ideal Candidate

- Fun and engaging in the classroom
- Organised, reliable and professional
- Comfortable teaching small groups
- Able to demonstrate and explain vocal techniques clearly
- Passionate about developing young performers
- Keen to become part of a supportive and growing teaching team
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 8 Singing or equivalent ability
- Degree in Music, Performance, Musical Theatre or a related subject
- Previous experience teaching children
- Experience teaching singing in small groups
- Experience preparing students for performances
- Piano/keyboard skills would be an advantage
- Enhanced DBS
- Driving licence
