Credit Controller (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Swindon (Hybrid Working: 2 days in the office, 3 days from home)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading global technology distributor and utilise your credit control experience in a supportive, flexible, and collaborative environment.
We're looking for a Credit Controller to join our friendly EMEA Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Based in Swindon, you'll play a key role in managing relationships with our UK & Ireland customers, ensuring effective collections, resolving customer queries, and supporting strong cash flow performance.
This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, enjoys building relationships, and has a proactive approach to problem-solving.
About the Role
As part of our centralised Credit Control team, you'll be responsible for managing accounts receivable activities for a portfolio of large and mid-sized customers. You'll work closely with customers, sales teams, finance colleagues, and other stakeholders to resolve disputes, improve collections performance, and reduce outstanding debt.
A key part of the role involves reporting and data analysis, so intermediate Excel skills are essential.
Full training will be provided to ensure you have the knowledge, systems, and tools needed to succeed.
Please note: This is a hybrid role and is not fully remote.
Key Responsibilities

Manage customer accounts receivable ledgers and collections activities

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

Investigate and resolve disputes, queries, and overdue balances

Identify process improvements to support DSO reduction and customer satisfaction

Work closely with Sales and Order Management teams to resolve invoice queries and facilitate order releases

Support accurate and timely cash allocation activities

Maintain accurate customer records and reporting data

Liaise with the Credit Risk team regarding customer credit limits and insurance levels

Provide regular cash flow forecasts and performance updates to management

Support ad hoc finance activities and other reasonable duties as required
About You
Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a fast-paced Credit Control environment

Strong accounts receivable, collections, and dispute resolution experience

Ability to build effective relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

Intermediate Excel skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks

Analytical and numerate with strong attention to detail

Confident negotiator with effective problem-solving abilities

Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Desirable

Experience within IT distribution or a similar commercial environment

Experience working with large global organisations

SAP experience

Knowledge of customer billing portals such as Ariba or Tungsten

CICM or other accounting/finance qualifications
