Compass Gas is a family-run business looking for a reliable and hardworking Driver / Yard Operative to join our friendly team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver gas bottles to both domestic and commercial customers using a 3.5-tonne flatbed van
- Load and unload vehicles safely, both manually and using a forklift truck
- Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and on time
- Organise and manage stock, including safe storage and stock checks of gas bottles
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment, including vehicle cleaning and upkeep
- Handle customer enquiries both face-to-face and over the phone
Requirements
- Physically fit, as the role involves heavy lifting and manual work
- Self-motivated with a positive, “can-do” attitude
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure, use initiative, and seek help when needed
- High attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- ADR Class 2 licence (preferred)
Salary
£24,000 – £28,000 (depending on experience)
