Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estates Strategy Manager, we are looking to provide proactive, and visionary Estates Strategy Manager to support the wider TLT leadership team with the development of our Estates strategy across the trust. TLT has a small central structure and a large amount of autonomy granted to its constituent schools. Each school has its own School Business Manager and Site team to manage daily operations and planning. The post holder will work closely with these teams and the trust Executive team to ensure compliance and risk management across the Trust..
Key Responsibilities
● Strategic Leadership and Development - To co-ordinate the long term integrated estates strategy and capital build programmes for the trust and understand the legal position of the estate. Advise the Trustees or seek advice on land acquisitions and disposals, tenure and land ownership, safeguarding, leases, licences and sustainability through ongoing carbon reduction schemes.
● Financial & Contract Management - Ensure balance and value for money in all estate decisions particularly project / contractor management, energy efficiency, asset optimisation and the cascade of this knowledge across the trust schools. Support schools with their understanding of project procurement and contract management.
● Compliance & Health & Safety - Leadership and oversight of statutory compliance, business continuity, security and Health & Safety procedures across the trust ensuring controls are robust, compliant, documented and evidenced appropriately at both trust and school level.
● Operations and team leadership - Line management of the Estates team and the development and training of school site teams across the trust with a focus on self improvement and personal growth.
What you’ll bring
● Relevant qualification and/or experience as an estates professional in an educational setting or similar environment
● Evidence of successful management of capital and building works programmes
● Extensive knowledge of Health & Safety policies and practices
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical estates information to both technical and non-technical audiences
● Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead, adapt to change and deliver to deadlines
● High level organisational skills with the ability to respond appropriately to conflicting user demands and expectations
Candidates will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure and must be eligible to live and work in the UK. As travel is required between sites, you must have access to a reliable means of transport in order to carry out your duties.
