To lead in establishing and maintaining business processes, that support the effective and efficient running of operational services.
These will include; Specific project management, CRES delivery, performance, including safety and quality and CQINs Support for QI initiatives.
To take a lead role in working with internal partners to deliver information processes, service improvement initiatives, business case proposals, contracting and financial management, health and safety and emergency planning. The post holder will represent the senior operational team on Trust-wide committees for agreed areas of work. S/he will represent Operations at multi agency meetings.
§ To have responsibility for ensuring that Service is compliant with, and pro-active in its approach to relevant NHS policies and developments, specifically Payment by Results, national access targets and Clinical Commissioning priorities.
§ To lead the Service’s strategic business planning process in accordance with Trust strategic plans, formulating the annual business plan including developing external relationships/ partnerships and representing the service on cross agency groups. This will include working collaboratively with senior management and clinicians to ensure the effective and consistent implementation of strategy across the Service.
§ To represent the service at Trust and CCG business planning and strategic forums.
§ To ensure the service develops sufficient capacity and capability in the area of business expertise to operate in a contestable environment, together with the proactive development for capacity and activity planning and effective utilisation of available resources in cooperation with partner agencies.
§ To ensure in cooperation with the Trust that appropriate controls and assurances are in place to minimise business and financial risk and maintain the divisional Risk Register in cooperation with operational managers.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
§ To oversee a model of continuous improvement across operations, taking the lead in service development projects and initiatives including role redesign in partnership with key stakeholders, in particular service users and carers. This will include the provision of financial information and advice in liaison with the relevant finance departments in respect of business case proposals, options appraisal and capital investment appraisals in conjunction with the Trust finance team.
§ To review specified services in conjunction with divisional directors and divisional clinical leads to ensure they meet expectations in terms of appropriateness, quality and efficiency and benchmarking, referring to recognised best practice as appropriate and ensuring that service improvements are undertaken in consultation with service users and carers and other key stakeholders. This will include ensuring that the division and trust have timely and appropriate information to enable the effective management and support services.
